The application process is simple and fully guided by our staff. First, fill out the online inquiry form. Once we receive your details, a counselor will contact you within 24 hours to schedule a free consultation. What are the application deadlines?

Deadlines vary depending on the school and intake period. Generally, for the April intake, applications should be submitted by November of the previous year. For the October intake, applications are usually due by May. We recommend starting the process at least 6 months in advance.

Do I need Japanese language proficiency before applying?

While not strictly mandatory for all language schools, having a basic understanding (JLPT N5 level) is highly recommended and sometimes required for student visa approval by immigration. Some schools offer beginner courses starting from zero, but immigration tends to look favorably on applicants with 150+ hours of prior study.

Do I need a student visa?

If you plan to study in Japan for more than 3 months, a Student Visa is required. For short-term courses (less than 90 days), many nationalities can enter on a temporary visitor (tourist) waiver, but you cannot work part-time on this status.

How long does the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) take?

The COE is issued by the Japanese Immigration Bureau and typically takes 2 to 3 months to process after your application is submitted by the school. Once issued, we will mail the original to you so you can apply for the actual visa at your local Japanese embassy.

How much is rent in Tokyo?

Rent in Tokyo varies greatly by location and type. A room in a share house typically costs between 40,000 JPY to 70,000 JPY per month. A private studio apartment usually starts around 70,000 JPY to 100,000 JPY. We partner with several housing agencies to help you find affordable options.

What is the average monthly food cost?

If you cook at home, you can expect to spend around 30,000 JPY to 45,000 JPY per month on groceries. Eating out for lunch typically costs 800-1,200 JPY per meal.

Can I work part-time as a student?

Yes! Student visa holders can work up to 28 hours per week with a "Permission to Engage in Activity Other than that Permitted under the Status of Residence Previously Granted," which you can apply for at the airport upon arrival. During long school holidays, you can work up to 40 hours per week (8 hours per day).

What is the typical hourly wage?

The minimum hourly wage in Tokyo is currently around 1,113 JPY (as of late 2023). Typical student jobs in convenience stores, restaurants, or language teaching often pay between 1,150 JPY and 1,500 JPY per hour.
